What started as a hobby, has now become a full-time business for Pat and
her husband, Randy. Pat moved to Bracebridge from Brampton in 1988. She
met Randy, who was from the area in 1991, and they were married in
1993.
Pat would make her gingerbread cookies on special occasions, like
Hallowe'en, Easter and Christmas, and bring them into her place of
employment and give them to friends. Entering a few craft shows and the
Bracebridge Farmer's Market, they realized the potential of starting a
new business.
In 2001, after a few years of working a full-time job and trying to
expand the cookie business, Pat quit her job to focus on the business.
Shortly thereafter, Randy became more involved in assisting due to the
high demand for the cookies. Today, they participate in various festivals, crafts and trade shows, and a few select stores.
On March 23rd, Pat and Randy appeared in a Global News segment
"Desperately Seeking Susan" featuring Susan Hay. This segment
featured Susan filling in for Pat for the day with Randy assisting.
